Richard J Darnell
Many Caterhams do low miles, mine included. In my case, nearly all of these miles are on the road. It is a 1.6 SS (k-series) So how often should I get the car serviced? The last service was 12 months and 3,500 miles ago and everything is still running fine. It doesn't feel like it needs a service. Would an oil change suffice (which i could do myself) or are there other things to worry about (such as why I don't drive the car more !). I will certainly get the car properly serviced after a few more miles but I don't want to waste money if I can avoid it. Views?
Paul McKenzie
Richard, You should get an owners' manual (gives you all the service tasks and frequencies) and do it all yourself. Everything is easy. Paul
Ninja Boy
Paul/Anyone - where would be the best place to get hold of a manual? Cheers, Mark 😬 1800 K-Series - S132 CUY 😬 😳 Also hairdresser's tin-top - J777 DMH - if it's raining 😳
New Barbie
For some reason, I have a couple of owners manuals spare (brand new not written in) I can also scan the relevant pages and post to someone. Let me know. I could be persuaded to post a new manual to someone in exchange for a NTL donation.
mav
Check the Caterham Service Schedule here. The 3000 is designed for those who want an annual sevice / cover less than 6000 mile per annum. Regards, Martin
