GrahamV
Its a cold wet night in Hampshire so I've been reading the Demon Tweeks catalogue ... I was looking at some of the tyre options and I believe there is a new List 1B tyre for 2010 - the Maxsport RB5. Its listed as a tarmac rally tyre but the text says its 'a moulded slick .... designed to maximise the road to tyre contact area within FIA regulations. List 1B for 2010. Available in S / M / H compounds'. The Maxsport RB4 looks like a similar 'wet weather' tyre ... Also there is a Hankook Z209 which looks a similar moulded slick type tyre - 'outstanding traction on dry or damp road surfaces. Available in M / S / SS compounds'. Mmmm just checking - not sure if this is a List 1B tyre? Has anybody got an experience of these tyres? How do you think they would compare to the Kumhos for sprinting? Area Representative Richard Price Posted November 29, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted November 29, 2009 Graham, Help the environment with recycled tyres from MAXSPORT That means that they are remoulds *eek*! The sizes look a little restrictive. However, they may be worth a go. Someone has to be firts to try new tyres. I tried Stunner Scudo's in 2005. It didn't take long for quite a few others to follow Edited by - Richard Price on 29 Nov 2009 18:15:

I used them myself a few decades ago. They do tend to be a bit heavy, and a bit stiff though.

Simon.Rogers1
It may not be the same tyre but we used a durometer on the Hankook tyres 3 years ago and it did not compare to the Kumho. But anything is worth a try.

GrahamV
Hi Richard Yes - but there is a Hankook Z211 which i believe is List 1B? Looks similar in tread pattern to a Kumho but not available in soft compound - only medium and hard. G
Chris101
Graham, Can we be the first to congratulate you on 'coming out' about what you do of an evening - reading the Demon Tweeks catalogue 😬 😬 In some countries it is still an arrestable offence *nono* C&L If only everything in life was as simple as a 7!! GrahamV
Hi C / L No problems - I keep my fetish well hidden. My copy of the Demon Tweeks catalogue is always hidden in an old copy of Playboy. Graham
