Gnasher2
Yeah baby. Can't wait to get a full season in. 😬 Loving the idea of two races at Brands. Must try harder next year to finish higher up the order.

jchasey
The first Intermarque race of the season is planned to be on the 27/28 March weekend so might try and fit in a SEMSEC race too. John

Gnasher2
Hey Merrick, You promised to retire when you had a full trophy cabinet. Surely your work here is done and you can retire secure in the knowledge that you have achieved every goal. 😬 How about a one lap head start for me next year??? Do you know when we can get out for some practice at Lydden? Paul
Merrick Linnett
Morning Ian. Paul. Ian, what is a good lap time in a Caterham on Slicks at Combe? I was instructing there last week and enjoyed the track. I know a few Blatchats has raced there before, any thoughts Hi Paul how did Mallory go? My feeling for next year is using 1b tyres at Lydden will change the running order. There are 2 Trackday to put in the diary for Lydden next year Jan 9th and march 13th. I'm happy to give you some help on both days (but not much . Just incase ❗) only joking. Merrick
Pendennis
Morning Merrick No idea on Castle Coombe times. Every year I intend to do some of their events, but every year seems to go by ☹️ I do hope 2010 allows me to visit there 😶🌫️ Are you adding weight then for these list 1b's Want to rent an 18th century Farmhouse in Rural Somerset? Fishy Dave
I had my first ever race there (at Combe) in April, and my best laps were in the 1min 21s on year old slicks, with a standard 1400 Supersport racer. Given more tracktime and not having to dodge other competitors I could see I would just get below the 1min 19 mark. Gnasher2
Hi Merrick, Both dates for Lydden now in the diary. Are you attending both? Hoping to have some ZZR's on the car by January to try them out, unless its wet of course and then I will use a knackered set of CR500's seeing as I had so much fun with them the last time out!! See you soon
Pendennis
Hi Paul The ZZR look almost identical to the Toyo R888, which is a Do you know what they cost and if they come in varying compounds? I asked Avon, but to date have not been supplied that information Want to rent an 18th century Farmhouse in Rural Somerset?
Gnasher2
No idea on the price of the ZZR yet but guessing (hoping) its around the CR500 mark. Have a chap working on his contacts at Avon to see if some can be liberated for testing. I looked at them on the CC R500 a few weeks back and had a chat with Andy Noble who was driving the car. He was very impresed with them so I take that as a tick in the box. Didn;y mention compounds but I would be surprised if they didn't come in a variety of flavours. Looking at the 888 the ZZR looks even more extreme . I really wouldn't want to have to argue the case of road legality with the BIB if push came to shove. 7Nut
Avon says:- Compound is the same as Group N race class. Race contruction so very stiff sidewalls. Excellent grip and predictable in the dry. Very limited grip in the wet. Not to be used as an everyday road tyre. I'll have some for the 'blade then ❗ Stew
Merrick Linnett
Ian, I would be up for the odd race at Combe next year. List 1b's are much heavier than the slicks. I will let you know the differance when I collect my MB wheels from Mike. Paul, I will try and get out on March 13 for some track time at Lydden, if you want some help before then let me know. The ZZR sound good, be interesting to see how they compare to ACB 10's and Kumho's. The ZZR only come in two sizes Dave thank's for the lap times you must be very competitive in your 1400, any idea of the times for the R400's and Durabang 7's 🤔 Merrick Edited by - Merrick Linnett on 22 Nov 2009 13:20:
