Apparently a drainpipe broke loose at her old people’s home when she was attempting to shin up it to get to her room a couple of nights ago. One of the wardens ran out when he heard the racket. The fall apparently didn’t kill her; she fell into an ornamental pond. The warden said she appeared unhurt but very inebriated and started to drink copious amounts of water, evidently thinking it was gin and started screaming for a “fecking tonic”. The speed with which she was drinking the water overcame her and the rest is history. So sad. I was asked to clear up her room today. Not much to clear up really. Put it all in a black bin bag and chucked it out. Kept a few of her more serviceable mementos; some grey support stockings, a quarter full bottle of gin with lipstick marks on the mouth, and some stained underwear.
