Area Representative bluenose Posted November 9, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted November 9, 2009 As part of my winter plans I intend to replace my dedion tube with the latest spec one and get my diff overhauled. My question is, I have a single garage about 8ft wide, can I get the tube out while it is on axle stands in the centre of the garage or do I need room to pull it out on one side? Titanium7
You may be able to thread it down if you have room. Push out one side and then drop the other end down inside the chassis rail and pull through lowering it to the floor(if that makes sense?)
Myles
Nose first into garage, leave tail hanging out, remove tube (instructions on my site under prop-change in maintenance section if you need them), trolley-jack the remains back in to garage??? Sounds like a plan to me.... 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester Racing 7s Ecosse™ 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted November 9, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted November 9, 2009 Nick, Yes, you can remove the tube in a single garage quite easily. it will go in/out at an angle. I can manoeuvre mine using my foot to lift it clear of the chassis whilst feeding it in/out. HTH Nick ----- Back in a BEC! - but done alright in Class 1... Area Representative bluenose Posted November 9, 2009 Author Area Representative Share Posted November 9, 2009 Cheers Nick, I was just checking it was possible before doing it the way Myles suggested. Now I can do it in the warm and dry Nick Lava Orange Caterham Blackbird
I.Mupferit
I even did the one on my SV in a single garage with no problems so you will find yours dead easy Nick. Edited by - Brent Chiswick on 10 Nov 2009 07:30:
