Badger Bill
How did you get on with the VelStatic? MPG, relaibility, pet-hates, driving experience, etc? BB
Wile7
It was brilliant 😬 It sounds daft but almost as soon as we got it I was offered an extremely good price by a parent at my little uns school so sold it on for a decent profit We will be getting another one though...an absolute peach of a car in 3.5 petrol auto form. Get the initiale version - all the toys. A great drive and you sit up quite high but its not a 4x4 which for us is a bonus (chelsea tractor brigade ) Highly recommended but keep it a secret... Wile7
Did you get my Email BB? 30 to 34mpg on mixed running (mainly long trips). Figure drops when you gun it or simply trundle around....but gunning it gave a glorious sound and it went rather well for a big car too 😬 Dave Ardley - White Xflow with Clams The Bearded Clams - King Clam of Clam Hill! photos
Wile7
Oh yesh indeedy......just bought another one The last one went so quickly it was only time before I hankered after another bangernomics Vel satis. This one is an 02 plate, 62,000miles, 4 owners and (get this) still under a Renault warranty until next year as the extra payments to extend have been kept up. Also with the 3.5 Nissan 350z engine and in initiale spec (no sunroof though ☹️) Price? £2k (after a tad of negotiation). 😬 Pick her up tomorrow Dave Ardley - White Xflow with Clams The Bearded Clams - King Clam of Clam Hill! photos
Wile7
Got it wrong...only 52k miles and what a storming 2 hr drive back home after pick up. Badger Bill
Dude, where did you get this one from?! I might be after something like it real soon! BB
Wile7
It was on Ebay BB....He wanted £3k and I made an offer and he accepted. The chap (a South African) had it from when he arrived three years ago (he had one in SA) and loved it. He had been given a 5 series Merc as a company car and the only reason for selling was that he had no where to park it on his drive. FSH with renault but it has a small scrape on one side - nothing that dentmaster can't sort. there are a few on autotrader (3.5 at £5k) and ebay has a couple. One red one with horrendous body kit was at £7995 over a year ago...now down to £3500.....an offer might work ;-) I am watching one on ebay at the moment which has a knocking bottom end. For parts if £500 is possible. Or, get an engine (same as 350z, nissan Murano, Espace...) and you could have a great cruiser for £1500 😬 I'll keep an eye open for you BB. CageyH
What happens when you get to a corner? I am sticking with the Tonka toy for now. I was shocked to learn that Nissan may have fitted a Renault engine to it 😳 🙆🏻 Only dead fish go with the flow....!
