blighty
just completed a four to five speed gearbox swap and could do with a" type 9 to ital" propshaft to help me drive the motor out of the garage!
edmandsd
If the Ital is the same bolt pattern as the Ford and you can give me the length required I may have a virtually new one available shortly that may just suit you.
KayTee
In case the Ital and Ford flanges are not the same: I need a prop for Rocket-Ford English for a short-cockpit l-a. Dave: could yours be the one I need ?? Pls. let me know if the deal with blighty doesn't work out ! Will stay in the family: the gearbox is attached to a BDx Cheers ! - Karsten Edited by - KayTee on 4 Aug 2002 14:06:
KayTee
Just tested: Ford flange has different pcd than Ital/Standard Companion Sorry ! David ?? Cheers ! - Karsten
blighty
the prop I require is a standard 5 speeder , what I am wondering is if I took yours , dave , with a Ford flange , could I then put my Ital one on, off of my 4 speed prop, in place of your Ford end? Or is all the u.j. bit a different size too?
edmandsd
KayTee - My prop is from a BDX powered 2001 live axle car which has been mounted about 3 inches further back than the standard crossflow mounts, meaning it doesn't need the Caterham bellhousing extension (or long input shaft) and the gearstick comes out in the same place. The prop is ulta lightweight being 2 inch in diameter and having the small Anglia flanges although it has got heavy duty uj's. It was new in Sept 01 and the car has only been used on a handful of occasions since. I'll be taking it off the car later this week so I can let you know any measurements. Blighty - You may be able to swap the flanges - I'm not sure though.
