jingars
Fighting to get in and out of the car with the hood on at the Sossige Run has finally prompted me to look at going for a QR wheel. My Momo is attached with four caphead bolts. The QR boss on the Caterham web store seems to have three holes. Could someone with a QR boss please confirm it has three holes and also advise on the distance between the holes (i.e. the length of the three sides of the triangle)? I need to work out whether I can realistically use my existing Momo wheel. Does anyone know whether the QR boss is a Momo product? I am not looking to purchase from anyone other than Caterham; I am just looking for online info about the beastie. TJG
The QR boss in your link looks exactly like the one on my car. Three holes, approx 43mm centres. Sticker on QR boss; by Lifeline, +44 24 7671 2999, www.lifeline-fire.co.uk
jingars
TJG, Thanks for the info. I would like to go for the Caterham item as it comes with a steering column top section already welded to the boss.
paul cardy
Hi Jingars If you look in the for sale section i have posted a Caterham MOMO SVA leather steering wheel which fits the Caterham quick release boss eg 3 holes. Regards Paul
jingars
Hello Paul, I have put a mail in to Caterham parts to enquire about the PDC of their QR boss. The PDC quoted on the lifeline boss (as suggested by TJG) differs to the PDC on the Momo GP2 boss. If it transpires that I have to go for a new wheel I will be in touch. rj
I am quite confident that the PCD is 2"
paul cardy
Just to clarify the quick release on my caterham as supplied by the factory 07 is a Lifeline manufacture and the MOMO steering wheel is to fit this type of QR boss. 2 inch PCD looks about right. Area Representative Richard Price Posted November 3, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted November 3, 2009 Jingars, The PCD (the circle on which the three holes sit) is 2", which makes the distance centre to centre of the three holes at 44.1mm. jingars
I received an email from Darren in Caterham Heritage Parts at 7.42 this morning. How good is he? If I could clone him and stick his copy in my local Ford dealership's service dept then all my car troubles would be over.
