Rich N
It never lasts that long for me.. I often find windowlene (sp) dilutes it, have you considered something like that?
Stuart McGill
Hmm. Why is it god awful Its not great on the 7 but I find it works well on the tintop. Sorry no idea how to remove. Stuart
Gordon C
Just plucking a few thoughts out of thin air as i haven't used RainX myself. Hows about trying........ Nilglass Meths LO30 LO30 by the way i use on a regular basis and can vouch for it's degreasing properties. Whether it works on the likes of RainX i don't know. Want a can ? Let me know. _________________________ Gordon. Edited by - Whoosh on 21 Oct 2009 21:09:
Sigmamark
I love the stuff, but time removes it and not very much is required
Support Team Shaun_E Posted October 21, 2009 Support Team Share Posted October 21, 2009 Halfords sell "Intensive Glass Cutter" which does the trick. I use their own brand of Rain-X and find it excellent on the 7 - hardly ever have to use the wipers. Eccles
Thanks guys, some good ideas, I'll have to give them a go I always find the way the mist and dew on these cold mornings just keeps coming back on until the window had heated up a bit and I find I'm using the wipers for a mile or so down the road. I imagine that it's good for rain but the beading up of mist and drizzle etc very distracting. This is on my new tintop and, I guess, put there by the dealers as part of the valet it gets. Stationary M25 Traveller
... or Meths, or AutoGlym Fast Glass. I prefer to leave the Rain-X on the screen (tin-top and Seven) ...... as above ... don't need the wipers much.
Bob Simon
Meths will get Rain-X off glass. I tried Rain-X on a window adjacent to my garden to stop the mud droplets from fouling the view. Bad idea! The missus went berserk about the streaky glare. Regular glass cleaner proved useless. Meths worked a treat. Markiebabes
Very fine wire wool 0000 grade or finer gently clean using it with a liquid glass cleaner should remove it 😬 then use glass polish to finish it off Mark 7 Webshots here R400 😬 pure fun ( more so with Aero fitted )
DohNut
As an aside I have found a Meths soaked rag is excellent for applying Rain-X, I think it breaks the surface of any remaining Rain-X and allows the new stuff to stick, which because it is thinned it spreads around nicely. DaveMorris
and another aside - guess what the main constituent of Rain-X is .. ..
