Miff
Given the recent downpour my new seven has developed the same 'quirk' as the last - lots of rain dripping onto my lower legs while driving. While I acknowledge that no-one buys a seven for it's comfort and luxurious interior is there any way of sealing the area above the footwell to stop this? I can't identify precisely where it's coming through and don't want to try applying silicone to everything! Have searched the archives to no avail. Cheers. Miff. Paul McKenzie
In front of the scuttle you'll find a ledge on which the battery and heater are located. To the left of this loads of holes, some containing rivnuts etc are apparent for attachment of ECU etc... all the ones that are not in use seal with silicone sealer Paul

Smally
My 7 leaked really badly when I washed it, and I traced the problem to the drainage holes on the heater. Some of them were not rivetted and I plugged them with a liberal amount of mastic. Problem solved!
Chrispy
Same prob. Rain seemed to find a way through the heater. A couple of strips of sticky tape on the underside of the first set of air vents on the bonnet solved the problem.
Miff
Sorry, do you mean block up these airvents with the tape? And which holes on the heater? Edited by - Miff on 5 Aug 2002 12:30:
Chrispy
Yep, first set of bonnet vents (nearest the windscreen). Sticky tape on the underside of the bonnet. Worked for me. Cheers, Chris
Dave H
Get a bonnet without the heater slots... better yet, Get a Seven without a heater 😬 Dave H Heaters & Windscreens is whoosy bits
scooby dooby doo
I don't think you can get a bonnet without heater vents these days. MY solution is to remove the screen so you get wet EVERYWHERE HOOPY
