tgracing
I'm after a car I can use for the Birkett relay in October. Anyone got a car suitable for a race meeting that they are willing to hire out to an 'in it for serious fun not serious contact' type racer ? If so, please call me on 07801 671907. Thanks, Davebo C7 CAR

Graeme Smith
You really need a car that will fit in with the spec other cars in a team, perhaps a Grad or a Super-Grad (though I've not heard of a Grad team this year) - try posting on the Grad website. There was a "Sixes and Sevens" team last year but I've no idea how they got handicapped. Have you got the ten signatures on your race licence you need for the Birkett? murph7355
There was another post on the "ForSale" area from a place that does just this. Might be worth giving them a shout? Think it was under an add for a VX car. Look here Edited by - andy murphy on 2 Aug 2002 12:27:
tgracing
Graeme, Er, no. @rse! I'm still a novice 'B'. B*gger all chance of getting the extra signatures now. How come it needs a class A ? Davebo.
Graeme Smith
Its a 750MC reg that you need 10 signatures for the Birkett. I actually think its sensible enough as there's some huge speed differences, which total novices might have trouble coping with. I remember last year checking that the line for Copse was clear, turning in, then finding a Morgan +8 alongside me! It works the other way too - its bad form to hit the Austin Sevens! If you're a few signature short, Caterham Graduates/BARC SE are putting on some cheap non-championship races over the next few months. Mail me if you're interested. tgracing
Graeme, thanks for the info. I'll double check with 750mc, but I expect you're right. I have 9 signatures in total, but 6 of then are from speed events, so I guess they won't count. Getting another 7 signatures between niow and October would be 'challenging'. B*gger! ☹️ Checked with 750MC and Graeme is exactly right. Double b*gger! Davebo C7 CAR Edited by - davebo on 9 Aug 2002 13:09:
