natndylan
Anyone done a trackday at Hullavington? Thinking of going in October...
Blatter
I've been on a Motorsports Events day there. It's not a bad layout, but I prefer Keevil and Colerne. Freestyle Duratec Caterham
natndylan
We are going to Hullavington (we being my dad John Vine of technical forum "fame" and me) if anyone fancies joining us...
John Vine
Out of interest, Blatter, is the surface particularly abrasive, or nice and smooth? If the former, I'll definitely be taking an old set of tyres! JV
Blatter
John - It's a little rough. The main problem, as with most airfield track days, is the stone chippings. As it's always an open pit lane day with MSE I would suggest that you let the "Spitfire Pilots" out for the first half an hour or so to clean the track a bit and then have a go. You still get plenty of track time on an open pit lane day. Freestyle Duratec Caterham
John Vine
That's useful, many thanks. Sounds like a full set of well-worn tyres is a must. Hullavington will be my first airfield trackday (apart from Goodwood, that is ), so it'll be interesting to compare it with the pukka venues.
