Jason Plato
Hi Taffy I did post on your earlier thread asking about some instalation pictures. I may be that you have the newer type of QED throttle bodies that sit lower, or you may have to simply make a new blackplate that moves the airbox to a suitable position. I'm happy to have a look at it for you if you wish - before you sella decent airbox off . dave here is my Duratec R .... C7 TOP Taffia AO
taffyracer
Hi dave, sorry must have missed that......i've now ordered a Jenvey sausage filter with their spacers so will try that 1st, appreciate the offer and might take you up on it, will give you a shout C7 YUM
Jason Plato
lets take a look at the setup and the solution may be simple - I have a variety of backplates and patterns in the garage. It would surprise me if the airbox didnt fit with the correct backplate position relative to the trumpets. arrange to call up one evening if you like here is my Duratec R .... Grubbster
To fit mine I had to raise one side of the engine a bit, I think there are 2 different right hand engine mounts - the lower one is for the VVC plenum (so it doesn't touch the bonnet) and with this one the airbox doesn't clear the chassis rail and clutch cable too well, so mine is jacked up on some washers to give the clearance. Tonycaterham
Hi, I made some recesses in the airbox for the chasis rail and the fuel rail union by carefully cutting lumps out of the air box and re-fibreglassing. All looks great and fits snugly without rubbing on anything, a really nice job if I say so myself 😬 Tony L7 EVL
taffyracer
Hi Tony, yes I had considered that but seems like alot of work and i didn't want to mess about with the flow characteristics, I spent ages adapting an airbox on an old M3 racecar and it was never right C7 YUM

TopQ1967
If It fits VHPD rollers and it is the last model I take it. Regards Q.
simonpa
It won't fit RBs - you can use a Pipercross airbox on those - keeping your existing backplate. Dom - is it the Caterham arbox with the outlet to the front of the car? I may be interested, if so. Cheers - Simon
