Sticking throttle cable

Hello all,

I have a 1600 VX classic. What im finding is that when cold the car idles at 1000rpm and when hot (with fan on) it idles at about 2000rpm.

I've disconnected the throttle cable when hot and the revs back drop down.

Arr Harr!

I've tried Grease, Oil, WD40 to lube the cable and bent the twin return springs for more cable tension but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Is "hello" a proper answer?

If it was a K series I'd blame the ECU. still can't work out why the position of the throttle cable would change between cold and hot and betwen hot and hot with the fan on and how taking it off would change unless it was something to do with a choke or something similar - by the way I don't know anything about VX's so I'm going away for a lie down and a nice cool drink of babycham.
