Roger Ford
Toyota Lite-Ace (also known as Town Ace) people carrier 1992. Getting old but not eligable for scrappage as it's a jap import. 140K kilometres, but had an almost-new replacement engine at 120K. Couple of photos here. I can take more if anyone is interested. Astonishing carrying capacity for its size. It's shorter than an Astra Estate, yet has far more space than any modern MPV due to the high roof and engine-under-driver's-seat layout. Was originally bought because you can fit a motorcycle in the back (road bikes sometimes need their mirrors to be be removed). 2.0 Turbo Diesel engine (or it might be 2.2, the documentation is a bit confused) Good points: 7 seats ( 2 + 2 + 3). Still has luggage space with all seats in place. Dual air condition (front and rear) Electric windows, electricaly folding and heated mirrors Automatic (perfect for driving with a broken left arm or leg after falling off motorcycles) "Skylight" roof system Tow bar (I've towed the Caterham to Cadwell with it - its was pretty slow but OK) Removable roof bars Sliding side door Rear seats fold up to side - no need to remove and store. Middle seats rotate to face front or rear. Heavy tint rear windows - can't see what stored inside Fantastic load carrying capabilities Bad points: It's slow - top speed around 75mph, though it's been known to reach 85 on a good day. Fuel consumption is very poor for a diesel, especially related to the performance - averages 23mpg Rear wiper doesn't work, and some interior trim is falling off/missing It's 17 years old Currently MOT'd until November. Passed the last two years with no issues. Looking for £650. Edited by - Roger Ford on 9 Sep 2009 15:39:

Peter T
Are they domesticated in any way? Can they cut grass or wash cars? If so we might be able to do business. 😬 Do they eat a lot?

Roger Ford
The wife has a sentimental and irrational attachment to them, so I'm not sure I'd get away with that one. -----Roger Ford Racing - demolishing tyre walls for 15 years and counting.
