Damdy-Cash
Hi Jeremy, just have send you the form, many thanks for your effort. I have chosen the caps as well, but wonder what type of cap for a black CXR set would be delivered as they have quite some variants here and what the price would be. Do you know the answer? cheers Volker German Sevener in Scotland
philwaters
I think the standard is the Chrome cap, 2.5" is the size (63.5mm). I think they look alright on the rear 8" rims, but the fronts look silly, they stick out far too much and the chrome really stands out on the grey colour I went for. I have therefore just ordered some of these and will try painting them to match (or black if I hash that up 😬) Phil Waters Edited by - philwaters on 27 Nov 2009 21:26:
catastrada
OK decision is now done. I will order 4 sets, 7x13 ET24 front and 9x13 ET24 rear, in black. Jeremy I will give you the details later in te day.
Damdy-Cash
thanks Phil, I think that is the way to go. And it seems Cat... is now running his own BB? 😬 cheers Volker German Sevener in Scotland

Damdy-Cash
Hi Jeremy, may you have missed my post re caps I have chosen the caps as well, but wonder what type of cap for a black CXR set would be delivered as they have quite some variants here and what the price would be. Do you know the answer? I think I'm anyway go for Phils suggestion but would like to understand what would be delivered and what is the price. cheers Volker German Sevener in Scotland
jeremybu
I think Compo included a basic silver cap last time. I'll need to see if they are prepared to do that again or if they will charge. 1.6 SV - GJ02JLO - If there's one thing I've learned, it's that it should have been something else. jeremybu
I have order forms in from: Pierre/Gilles Volker Jake Jek I'm going to submit these on Wednesday so if anyone else wants to be included, please return the form by then. Jake, I need your offsets still. From past experience, I think 6/ET20 and 7/ET18 would be OK but the decision is yours. In addition - re caps, you can have a set of any of the 2.5 here types free or you can have a flat black plastic or a flat 'chrome' version which are also free. catastrada
I would prefer flat black plastics please?
jakeandlizzy
OK, according to Polley (and here) , 6x13 Front - ET19 (or whatever everyone thinks will work best) 7x13 Rear - ET24 (I originally though something will smaller offset, but looking at Simon's car they are plenty pushed out with the 205s on them). these are the ones fitted here: here (Simon's Car) and they seem to look good with 205s mounted. I also had down grey (like: here), which I am sticking with unless something out there thinks that it may not look good on a Green/Yellow striped cc - your opinion matters!? Also, yeah, I guess the black plastic caps (shorter ones)...wonder where Simon got his caps as they look pretty good! I hope I got it right! Damdy-Cash
Jeremy, I would like to have the flat black plastic as well. I send you a updated form as I have changed the rear ET from 18 to 20 and have added the cap info as well. Hope as well that I have got it right now cheers Volker German Sevener in Scotland
Damdy-Cash
Jeremy, btw, just wondering how long it takes after we the bits together. I go at 16th to Germany, have some business meetings and we stay there for the Christmas break, back on the 8th of January. How has that worked in the previous BB? cheers Volker German Sevener in Scotland
jeremybu
I think it took around 14 days last time but I think they would hold back delivery if required. 1.6 SV - GJ02JLO - If there's one thing I've learned, it's that it should have been something else. jakeandlizzy
OK, so the forms are being submitted today, I suppose we then contact compo to send give our CC numbers? Any thoughts out there from the audience of whether or not I should go with Black or Grey with a BRG/Yellow striped CC? Although I may end up changing in a year or so to Kawasaki green after my DVA upgrade :)
jeremybu
You won't need to pass on your membership numbers. MartinB has black CXRs on his Kawa Green which looks good. I think the Grey would giver a softer/more posh look though but costs a little more of course. Let me know ASAP please.
jakeandlizzy
I will go with the grey, don't think you could go wrong as they are more charcoal grey than a silver colour.
jeremybu
Forms have been emailed to Compo. Chris will be in touch direct with you to discuss. Any problems, let me know. 1.6 SV - GJ02JLO - If there's one thing I've learned, it's that it should have been something else.

philwaters
I think you can get them from Compomotive - do a search on Tecktalk. catastrada
can anyone give advise where to get black wheel nuts? On my previous R300 I've bought them On Elise Parts. (60° / tapered Open)
jakeandlizzy
I bought them as well (not fitted yet) and they aren't too bad: http://www.eliseparts.com/products.php?product=447 They are black yes, but kind of like the black you see on a gun barrel. Would work well with the cxrs I think and are a bit lighter the stock kind (closed cap). Jake
jakeandlizzy
Sorry, mine were just the metal ones (which are going to replace my current rusted chrome ones this weekend)....
jeremybu
It may be wise to check that your studs are long enough when your wheels arrive. I fitted the longer studs to be sure as the nuts didn't fully engage. 1.6 SV - GJ02JLO - If there's one thing I've learned, it's that it should have been something else. philwaters
Some pics of my flush fitting centre caps from eBay, now uploaded to my web album. Have the nearest paint code match for the Grey (Pug Cassock) and will be painting them and then adding a coat or two of lacquer to protect.
