phill brigstock
*wavey*Hi everyone Just took the car for a run - A mile from home at about 40mph & 3000 rpm the engine dies, tries to cut out but can just be kept going at around idle revs. Turn engine off then 10 mins later it starts & runs at all revs OK so I drive home & still revs OK in the driveway but "hunts" between 500 & 2000 rpm on idle. I'm frightened to take the car anywhere until I've worked out why it tried to die at 40mph. Maybe coil or throttle position sensor? Car is a 1995 1.4 K series Supersport with a Schneider head. Thanks for your thoughts. Phill Brigstock
Support Team Shaun_E Posted September 7, 2009 Support Team Share Posted September 7, 2009 My money would be on the coil. I've got through at least 4 of them in the last 7 years so this year I switched to wasted spark ignition using a GM coil pack.
