allen
Friend of mine had had a meeting of the valves and pistons, pistons OK, valves very bent, guides done in and head apparently quite knackered. A good bare head would do (good valve guides required as apparently they are cast in and not replaceable without machining. allen
ECR
Valve guides are replaceable either with standard parts or slightly oversize guides are manufactured to take up any stretching of the head when the old ones are removed. Can't help with the head but have you tried ebay ?

Mavic82
There are a few on ebay at the moment, just don't buy the coscast one on ebay with the buy it now of £250. The heads are scrap without the cam caps. There are acouple of standard and coscast ones at the moment. Bought a coscast one my self this week for £90 It sounds like your friends head could be fixed by a good machine shop though
