Another clue? The ZF diff leaks a tablespoon or two per week on the garage floor. Is this "normal, they all do that, sir"? Or another hint that the thing ain't right. All opinions will be admittedly superior to my own and eagerly followed up. Thank you.

That doesn't sound right, surely a sealed unit shouldn't leak this much. Actually I had to reply as i saw your listing at 5AM this morning. Did you get up early for a blat?

The ZF or stock open diff should not leak oil. Sounds like you need to replace a seal or the back plate has not been sealed properly on assembley.

Combined with your diff whine, something certainly needs looking at. These units are generally very reliable.

Can't say too much about leaking diffs, but I think I can solve the 5am blat question, Yankedoodoo is an American Gentleman and their clocks tell a different time to ours!
