Anton
Heading southwest, low over Croydon Lane, Near Oaks Park, Banstead at about 7:15pm tonight. Couldn't watch it for more than a few seconds, as I was driving LE0 and couldn't stop, but it looked like a late mark of fighter, with the revised wings, four cannon, full camouflage and D-Day stripes. Anyone any idea where it might have come from/was going to? Lovely noise! LEO 3eggs Another Slightly Vider SeVen

Anton
Paul - could have been an E wing - with the inboard .5inch mg stubs, but it seemed to me the wings had straight tips - clipped perhaps? an LF version - Wikipedia lists a couple of LFXVIes as still flying. Peter W
I think your are right Paul. We watched it at the Stonor Park Concert last nght. Fantastic sight to the sounds of the Dambusters etc. The programme described it as the 'Kent' Spitfire. Warms the cockles........ Cheers Peter
paul abrahams
Anton the one I saw didn't have clipped wings but they all look and sound so good don't they 😶🌫️ Peter must be fantastic to see a Spit performing like that, I think they do something similar at Headcorn airfield in Kent, so I will have to check it out. The Spirit of Kent has an interesting history looking at the website and often flies over tunbridge wells, as did Martin Sargeant from Goudhurst until his tragic death in France a few years ago. They're still my favourite plane of all time, as you say, warms the cockles
