4" Exhaust Silencer - Free to good home

In the garage I have what I assume is a 4" exhaust silencer, well the diameter measures to 4". Pipe to manifold is 2" and is of the side exit type. Might suit an older crossflow.

 

It was given to me by the previous owner of my car as he'd put a bigger can on to reduce noise levels. Looks to be solid enough but it's had a plastic caught on the bottom and burnt on a bit but should clean off.

 

It's been stored in my garage a few years.

 

As I've no idea what this would sound like on the car or what the internals are like then I'm not after any money for it but if it turns out any good maybe you could put a couple of quid in to nuke the luke. If it turns out no use then all it has cost you is a bit of time.
