Normans_Ghost
Dave, but not Mobil 1. I can get the Motul stuff and it's about the same price but as I've used Mobil 1 for the past 17 years I'll just keep sliding with that. The Motul blurb looks good though. Normans_Ghost
Any luck? I'm resolved to using Motul 15w50 but have managed so far with Mobil 1 from the UK. Normans_Ghost
Dave, don't worry, I've been into several Norautos and Roady's and a few other independents. Closest I came was the Norauto at Nantes Atlantis (next to Ikea) had a 2 litre tin of Motul 15w50. I usualy get enough from Halfords in Dover when I pop over for my MOT. Unclefester
I believe Motul is actually superior to Mobil 1 anyway. Certainly Amsoil is, though it's also necessary to order the stuff in from Don Miles of performance Oils or Opie Oils if in the UK. Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted July 22, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted July 22, 2009 IMHO Mobil 1 is overated (but I did buy some in France, in Joinville) Democratic dissent is not disloyalty, it is a positive civic duty. Normans_Ghost
Who knows. I couldn't stand another 20 page debate about oil. I did read a controlled test of a New York Taxi which was used by 2 brothers in almose not stop shifts. After 100,000 miles they removed a stripped the engine in a laboroty. The camshafts still had the original machine marks visible, bore had no measurable wear and the bearings likewise. Sounded good to me. But it looks like I'll use Motul for the next oil change.
