Nifty
I have recently started to get oil leaking out from the tower cap. The cap seems to be done up tight but the inner column that swivels with the pipe to the catch tank seems a little lose. How many seals/O rings am I supposed to have in the system? Any other ideas? ======================================== Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
davidvoas73
Sounds like the bolts that hold the inner column to the tower are a little loose. The column will only swivel if the bolts are NOT nipped up tight. Perhaps this is the cause on the oil leak? airborne tweaked supersport
mc1
Hello, i've just solved the same problem by replacing the seals with a kit from Caterham. If i remember theres 5 o rings and it's a 5 minute job. Everything on my Tower was tight but it still leaked until i changed the o rings. Cheers Mark
Area Representative bluenose Posted July 14, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted July 14, 2009 Nifty When I had an R300 I bought a new kit from Caterham but it still would not seal so I replaced the O ring with a thicker one and it solved the problem. Nifty
Will enquire of a new O ring kit from CC. Sounds like the bolts that hold the inner column to the tower are a little loose. The column will only swivel if the bolts are NOT nipped up tight. Perhaps this is the cause on the oil leak? What bolts 🤔 ======================================== Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
Adrian Williams
There are two designs of cap, one with 6 bolts holding the upper ring down and one with a knurled upper ring. Adrian

AndyG
I have the same problem Is the o ring kit the same as the "Fixed cap kit" the fixed bit appeals as i do not see the need for an unfixed bit. Tantrum the Original
Nifty
Well, kit seems to have done the job, though like Nick, I also thought the O ring on the inner column was too thin so I put the old one and the new one on together. ======================================== Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
