Eye Protection - Aeroscreen!

Recommended Posts

Oakley I know not budget! They are fecking strong and they have light transmission charts in their dealerships. I have owned several pairs over the years and they are fantastic. If you break them in warranty time doing extreme sports they will replace them! I think sevening will count! With the light transmission charts you can work out a good compromise between day time brightness protection and night time visibility!

Hope that helps

For eye protection on a budget I can recommend the following:

For evening and night driving try Fectoggles .

They are a one piece clear poly-carbonate safety goggle that has a foam cusion to "seal" the glasses to your face.

They have been tested with no screen at over 110mph.

No blinking or tears at all. (on a cold night too!)

For day use I can recommend Bolle safety glasses .

Available with a range of lenses and have a side shield to stop you crying at speed.

I have sat on mine, dropped them and fallen of my (mountain) bike wearing them and they are still in one peice.

They also look pretty cool too!

Both are available from RS Components and cost around £10.00 a pair!

Search for the following numbers for pics, prices and more info.

Boll'e glasses - Part No: 277-5504

Fectoggles - Part No: 323-6016

I've got the Oakleys, haven't tried them with aeroscreen (must get round to putting it on), I bought them as they are impact rated, also wrap around effect helps to stop turbulence behind the lense. It is a pity you are not going tonight as you could have tried them out.

If you get lost follow the EXIT signs !!

I think at the moment Oakley's are beyond my budget. The Bolle galsses look like an option for Day driving. But I will be looking for a pair of proper night driving glasess (the special yellow/orange lense - what is this called?) as well.

Any other suggestions?

Clive.

(I can't read signs!)
