Slider7
Quick question : how much oil goes in a VVC engine (wet sump) with an apollo tank (in a Caterham) ? The owners handbook says 7 litres for a 16v wet sump with an oil/air separator (apollo), but I'm not sure this also aplies to the VVC (160 bhp) version ? mav
I'd fill to 7 litres and then dip check wiht the oil hot. It will take anything between 7 and 7.75 litres in total...
Stationary M25 Traveller
It certainly does take a good 7 litres Bruno.
Mick Day
As Mav says: Ignore what the book says, fill it with 7litres then dip; fill to top mark of dipstick. Check once hot & dip within 30 seconds of switching off engine.
rj
Usually a bit more than 7 litres... Easier to top up than to drain :-p
