RichardUSA
I've posted about this before but why can't we, (at least when posting on TechTalk) have a signature that gives the basic info about your car? People trying to help must ask basic info like....'what engine? what year chassis? What model? What tires? LSD? Mileage?.............. Can we anticipate a bit? Sorry for the rant - bad day. ☹️ BASIC TECH INFO: 2004/8,500 mile Cat w/Zetec SVT, widetrack, DeDion, 5 spd/3.62, 15-CR500's Ali/black
Normans_Ghost
Richard, That's far too easy. Members can do that, as you have (and I). But, I suppose it's fun asking a poster what engine/gearbox/brakes he's asking a question about I suppose we could have a vehicle spec form attached to our profiles which would deal with this problem. Year of manufacture: Model: Colour: Engine type: Engine mods: Gearbox type: Rear axle type: Diff type: Front suspension type: Front brakes: Rear brakes: Wheel size: Tyres (make & size): That should deal with 95% of the questions arising. If I was designing it I would put a test in that if the data isn't updated when posting in TechTalk it requests it. Of course it also starts a nice register of what's out there. ed to ad the top 3 questions Norman Verona, 1989 BDR 220bhp, Reg: B16BDR, Mem No 2166, the full story here You and your seven toThe French Blatting Company Limited Edited by - nverona on 11 Jun 2009 07:01:
Johnty Lyons
Very very valid point So many questions go nowhere for first 5/6 posts untill we establish what we are talking about. A simple addition to the Sig line is all it takes feeling smug cos his has been there for years 😬 😬 jj N.I. DougBaker
A basic signature sounds like a good idea. If you wanted to capture more details it is probably better somewhere in the info you get clicking on someones username, as seen on pistonheads. Rather than extending the size of every post. Editing as I did not realise the signature defaulted to off. And again as you cannot add a sig by editing Edited by - DougBaker on 11 Jun 2009 16:46:18 2003 Roadsport SV 1.6K 5 speed. millsn
You could then include your address with eahc post so that the pikeys really knew where to look.
DougBaker
There are many more numerous, valuable and easier to sell on targets than sevens. With your number plate someone can get your address but that does not stop folks from driving on the roads. 2003 Roadsport SV 1.6K 5 speed.
