jackb_ms
Hi I lost/missplaced one of the dowty washers which are used on the bleed screw on the radtec radiator I have. I have looked from one at my local factors, plumbing center, bolt and nut place but I cannot find one. Can the POBC tell me what I can replace a dowty washer with? Thank you for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow
Stationary M25 Traveller
Dowty washers are nice seals - I was very impressed to find one on an OPG M12 adaptor recently On my aluminium radiator, the bleed screw is sealed with a fibre washer - the sort you would use to fit a tap to a tap connector on a copper pipe ... i.e. from DIY store or plumbers merchant. edit - maybe these peoplewould send you a 'sample' before you start using them in future production ? Mick Day
Dowty washers (bonded seals) are available here: www.thinkauto.com. Fibre washers are OK for a while but Dowty washers can be used over & over again. In effect it's a way of getting a seal as good as an O ring. CageyH
I have a stainless penny washer, lapped on to the radiator with grinding paste. Only needs to be replaced if I drop it, and can't find it afterwards.... Only dead fish go with the flow....!
