thesheep
What engine is that then? And I notice the exhaust is on the right like the new Sigma ones? peterg
160bhp Rotary engine powered That'd be a Mazda engine then...
RoyH
Are there many of these? Never heard of a rotary engined Caterham before. Turbo Saxo with CF cupholders
Mark_P
Sorry for the tardy response... The engine is a 'wankel' Mazda rotary engine - probably unique in the caterham community....and yes the exhaust exits on the driver's side! Mark
rgrigsby
I didn't know there was one in a Caterham, I've seen one in a Striker and a Westfield. I spent quite a while following the Striker and it emits some amazing flames on overrun! 😬 sounds great as well. Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
thesheep
Wow pretty unusual. And a lot lighter than an RX7! What's the engine like? Does it seem very smooth? -------------------------------------------------------- Caterham7Junkie.com
Mark_P
It sounds fantastic...... It just keeps on revving and pulls really evenly.

elie boone
Just for the record, a rotaty in a Seven is not new and it was in a Lotus Seven. You can find all info in Dennis Ortenburger's book.

Mark_P
Well, the rotary powered caterham is still for sale....I now have as well as an awesome new manifold/silencer system, which the photos are linked above, new 2nd hand seats and headrests and doors. All in all nearly a 1k spent in the last month. I have decided to give it another 3 weeks on the market....I have booked my ferry to take the car back to Chamonix on Friday 21st Aug. Any takers on this bargain??

Andy Lef
Mark - *thumbup* It looks awesome and the new exhaust looks fantastic! I know this car quite well and see it on a fairly (now it's back from Chamonix) regular basis and can attest to how good it looks and goes, especially after all the work that's gone in to it! It's a bargain for anyone either starting up or looking to upgrade from something slower but can't afford the move to Duratec. It's a no brainer Andy Recently converted by DVA from 1.4ss to a ripping 1.8ss (+ K15 DVA )
