FIA BAR FITTING,

Due to club regs does anyone know how easy or difficult this is??

i have a 95 chassis with standard bar and is a long cockpit.

ive ordered one from J.WHITINGS.

I don't know about live axle but the de dion install is failry straightforward but can be a bit fiddly as you need to drop the rear shockers from their top mountings in order to get the two half-height-head fixing bolts up from underneath.

 

I bottled it and got those nice chaps at Redline to do it for me - painless and relatively cheap. They also fitted the new boot cover - the old standard one doen't fit.

Well, I have just got back to work from collecting mine, if all goes according to plan I'll let you know on Monday how it all went.

PS - I'd avoid Caterham today. The road up from the M25 was closed and it was traffic chaos.

Hi, mine one was a major problem to fit and took hours of fettling as the posts which fit into the appetures were not quite the right angle.

 

If it does not fit pretty well first time, take it back !

Well I did it myself 3 weeks ago. Easy. The longer part was to find the allen kee in inches necessary to release the upper end of the shocks, and to install the poppers of the new boot cover.
