Tyres / Wheels : compatibility question

Recommended Posts

Currently running 13" wheels with 185/60/R13 Yoko 021's (standard 1.6K SS).

Basically I'm happy about this setup but am changing to R300 spec engine in May, so want to upgrade the rears to 205's.

Would the 205/60/R13 Yoko 021's fit on my 13 X 6 wheels ... or do I need 13 x 8 wheels for the rear ?

Wheels are the older KN Minator ... not new 8 spoke style jobbies.

TIA *wink*

I've gone the same route, although I use Toyo R888 tyres instead.

205/60/13 fit fine on my rear 13x6" minator wheels. The only difference might be that my car is live axle compared to your de dion rear - I'm not sure if your chassis mountings are any closer to the tyre than mine?

cheers

Dave

I'm currently on 6J wheels all round with 185 60 13s on the front and 205 60 13s at the rear. I believe 7J rims would be better for the 205s, giving a firmer side wall but I'm perfectly happy with the current set up.

When I can afford to change to black 8 spokes maybe I'll make the change then *tongue*

Cheers for the info / advice *wink* *thumbup*

One more thing :

Just looked in the DT catalogue where the O21's are listed ... for the 205/60/R13 they state the following :

- Spec rim : 6

- Permitted : 6B - 6.5J

Does this mean that you can't fit them on 13x8 or even 13x7 rims *confused*

OK, thanks RJ ... so a 7" rim shouldn't be a problem then *wink*
