SJY910 Posted July 7, 2002 Share Posted July 7, 2002 Hi all, The oil pressure on my standard 1.8 K with an Apollo has begun to behave strange. It is at about 4 when I start the engine. Then goes down to 2 and just above red when idling. After standing still & idling for a while it temporarily goes up to 4 again and then settles at 2. What's all this about? Could it be that the sender is playing tricks on me? (it got disconnected a while ago.) The oil level seems fine and the oil also looks ok. A friend with a K had similar problems and it turned out that the wetsump foam had deteriorated and was all around in the engine. I would not want that scenario... Thoughts anyone? Cat_man Posted July 7, 2002 Share Posted July 7, 2002 On my 1.6L K I have oil pression : 5-6 bar when the engin is coold 4-5 Bar when engin is in good temperatur ( @ 3000 Tr/m) 4 Bar when my engin is very hot (traffic jam) (@ 2500-3000 tr/mm) My friend havec en 1.8L Vvc en the iol pressur is beetwen 2-4 bar all the time, never more.
