gee_fin
4 off 13" R500/MBE magnesium split rims. Unpainted centres. Can supply with or without rubber. Will consider part-ex for 15" rims (don't ask why, I know which I would prefer to keep!) scooby dooby doo
what are R500 wheelnuts? are they the ones that come from MB when you order direct or are they some special lightweight jobs? Not trying to be difficult - I'm just interestered as I already have a set but had been thinking that the nuts are fairly solid things... gee_fin
The R500 rims need shouldered wheelnuts and a washer due to the diameter of the holes. Not sure if you can get lightweight alloy wheelnuts for the rims (series never allowed alloy wheelnuts so I never enquired!, would have to defer to forum knowledge on that one). Wheelnuts were about £25 from Caterham. murph7355
I'm going to get some lightweight nuts made up with any luck. Once I get my arse into gear. The compomotive guys who do the other lightweight ones have said they'll look at it as and when I send them one of my spare nuts.
scooby dooby doo
andy - how much are the normal nuts and how much weight do they reckon will be saved? what sort of price as well? Dave Hooper - dmch2@lineone.net
murph7355
I think they'll probably be about 60% of the weight of standard ones if the other nuts I have are anything to go buy. The std. R500 nuts are quite chunky so it'd be afair few grammes smile.gif The other lw ones were something like 2.50GBP ea., closed end and gold anodised. Not definite they'll be able to do these, but will let you know when I get something sorted.
scooby dooby doo
The question is would i want them black or a nice tarty anodised red.... wink.gif Dave Hooper - dmch2@lineone.net
murph7355
Red. Makes you go faster. Especially when applied to throttle bodies.
scooby dooby doo
good thing my car's all red then! hmm... my TBs are about the only thing that's not red or black (black interior and engine bay as well smile.gif) Dave Hooper - dmch2@lineone.net
