Wheels question

Hi

I have an option on collecting 4 tires and steel rims which use to belong to a Rover 25.

Does someone knows if they would fit a Caterham?

Cheers

Jack

PS: I want to have my alloys refurbished this is why I need a spare set.

It's all down to PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) and stud pattern.

If its for MLE then you need a pcd of 4.25" or 108mm. This is often refered to as Ford fitting, we know it as de Dion fit.

As you know they are 4 stud.

Only way to be sure is to measure/test fit. Even if PCD is right, central hole could be wrong diameter, or offset could be out.

What Caterham, De Dion or Live Axle? I think they'll be 4x100 PCD, and likely a silly offset. May fit Live Axle, but check offset and mounting centre diameter (Hole in the middle).

For De Dion, go for a set of 4stud wheels from a Peugeot. I've a set of 305 rims that fit great (The offset is spot on too).

Hi Jack

I suggest you put in a "Wanted".

It has worked for me on a couple of occasions.

When I got the 15" wheels for 524, they were offered to me because I posted second in line to a For Sale.

I feel like the odd one out here...I want a 21 now too 😬

Your other option is to go for a set of Wellers, which are a steel racing wheel, and available in all sorts of widths for Ford 4 x 108mm PCD. I've also a set of those in 13x7 which fit lovely (On a De Dion 7).

They come up every now and again on eBay, look way better than standard steels and are a decent wheel to keep for trackday spares etc.
