When I raced bikes I didn't drink at all, zipp, nowt for 9 months of a year, it was amazing how much better/stronger you were without drinking, what was also amazing was how drunk you got when first started to drink again. The UK pro's at that time would go on training camps after xmas to the Canary Islands (just to annoy Mickrick , nothing to do with the warmer weather and volcanic hills) and they would still be drinking at that time of the year after a day out on the bikes they were very naughty boys in the end the wives insisted on going to stop the partying and the team managers who wouldn't want the wimin there normally were happy to have them along.
