Best route for handbrake cable

I've tried three different routes for the handbrake cable on my ital live axle car as it comes out of the transmission tunnel. They all go under the axle. The first goes right over the a-frame. The second goes right under the a-frame. The third goes under the a-frame forward transverse link but then through the a-frame and over the rear diagonal link.

The first way seems like the cable will get caught up with the propshaft. The second way seems like the cable could droop and get caught on something on the road. The third way is OK but the cable can get nipped between the a-frame and axle at the mounting point when the axle goes into full droop (it got stuck there yesterday when I jacked the car up). I'm not happy with any of these layouts. How do people do it?
