millsn
Looking for someone with experience of this: What's the best route from Kings Cross? I get the choice of cheap route via underground or expensive via Paddington (addnl £15) and the LHR rail link which looks quick from Paddington but then I have to get to Paddington first. Is there any benefit using the Heathrow connect or express from Paddington? no.
mav
Used the U/G once. never again. Heathrow express is a great service

irrotational
Underground journey is an hour - assuming it works at all... I'd get from kings x to paddington and take the express...unless you're a student or retired and dont want to spend the money --- my mind is blank.... Graham Perry
There is nothing in it. Its 55 to an hour either way. Although the tube runs slower the picadilly line takes you straight there so you don't waste time on changing trains. Not as comfortable as overground though Edited by - Graham Perry on 17 Feb 2009 20:18:
millsn
Sounds like votes for the express then generally, thanks I'll give it a go
bobt
The express is pricey as journeys for the distance go. I'd use the heathrow connect instead, much cheaper. I use it everyday and only takes a little extra time. Rob
oakhill
The best way to Heathrow is by London Taxi, fast and you get to see how a pro drives!
weeman
Oakhill, you wouldn't happen to be a Cabbie would you? If you are, then my profile signature will mean more to you than anyone else on B/C. _________________________ Be Lucky!! Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted February 19, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted February 19, 2009 The advantage of the Piccadilly line is that you can get on at Kings Cross and sit back until you are at LHR (provided you don't get on an Uxbridge train 😳) Use the TtfL Journey Planner for your planning. It says fastest is Circle/Met/H+C to Paddington and then Heathrow Express:- 40 mins total journey time. Fewest Changes is Piccadilly, which will take about an hour Democratic dissent is not disloyalty, it is a positive civic duty.
