Another stupid tyre question

Thinking of changing from my A048's to Toyo R888 😬

The question is are the compounds similar 🤔

ie; are soft in A048 same as soft in R888 🤔

I had the softs all round with the 48's and car was very planted 😬 tried medium on the back soft on front and it made it a little rear twitchy *eek* which can be fun 😬

so I am now thinking of going down the R888 route in softs all round, but if they are a lot softer will they last as long as the 48's did *confused*

any advice ?

anyone running softs all round ?

On the road, R888 SG compound (soft) will be fine although you won't get many miles out of them. A single trackday would destroy them.

I used them for a season of sprinting and probably covered about 2000 road miles on them as well.

thanks will have a look at the mediums as the prices I am being quoted (for both A048and R888) are very similar *thumbup* in fact adams and page were cheaper for A48s than Toyo's

Well.......... You might not be slow, but you're obviously not braking hard enough/late enough!! You'll have to try harder *wink*

Not surprised Adam & Page are quoting more for Toyo's. After all, they are a Yoko dealer.

Have you had a price from Camskill? Got my local guy to fit the new tyres on the rims today. Hopefully get them on the car at the weekend, and subject to weather, get them scrubbed in.

Will report back, when I've fully road tested them 😬

Nigel.
