MarchHare2008
Having problems with overheating with my new K series which seemed to indicate that the thermostat might not be opening so I decided to check it. Basically it will only open in boiling water. Even water just off the boil won't open it so I think it must need high 90's to work. I assume it is faulty? If so any ideas where I might be able to get a replacement this weekend?
Myles
Halfords should be fine - all you've got to do now is to sift through the various posts online to work out the various part-numbers for each manufacturer. Can't recall if I've listed it on my site or not - mebbe not because I was hunting for a lower-temp one than standard. 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester Racing 7s Ecosse™ 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
Mick Day
Now you've taken it out, broken or not, it's a good idea to put a new one back in. I would guess that your standard stat is an 88 deg one. A lot of us use an 82 deg stat; the Halfords part number for that is HTK 605.
MarchHare2008
I suspect you're right that it's an 88 degree stat but it seems to be functioning as a 99 degree stat! I will see if I can get one from Halfords tomorrow. Thanks for the part number.
