Zetec Rich Posted June 28, 2002 Share Posted June 28, 2002 I have a 5 speed quaife gearbox in my seven, when mr Quaife rebuilt it for me he recomended that i used Mobil mobilube SHC SAE 75W-90. This oil has worked very well, the problem is the supplier in my area (Croydon)has gone and the box could do with a top up. Phil Posted June 28, 2002 Share Posted June 28, 2002 The oil you have been supplied is a semi synthetic extreme pressure gear oil and should be original fittment on VW,AUDI,PORCHE. As long as the bottle says 75/90 on it it will be up to spec and will mix happily, Even your local Halfords will possible stock it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

stevefoster Posted July 3, 2002 Share Posted July 3, 2002 Comma 75w90 gear oil will also be ok. Mr SPC (builds using Quaife) recommends Redline equivalent. Brian Hill (GB builder) says any good 75w90 inc Comma is fine.
