Confused by injectors

I'm spending the winter trying to make sure I am getting the full potential out of my car for next seasons class 3 sprinting.

Always thought the car struggled to pull top end revs in high gears at the fast cicuits last year. The car started life as 1.6 superlight, it was upgraded to a 1.8 by Dave Andrews by a previous owner.

4 into 1 Caterham exhaust, standard mems ECU, standard head.

Original fuel pressure regulator,(Possibly squeezed by Dave)

As I understand it, 1.8 K series engines run on cream injectors?

Checking mine, from the front of the engine I found

1 Blue with number on the top 32332

2 green...........................32332

3 Blue.............................44332

4 Blue.............................43332

I assume there has been an injector replaced at some time and only a green one was available.

Could this set up be hidering the performance of my engine?

Should I fit the cream injectors?

If yes where can I source these?

Comments please

Very easy to change. Unbolt the fuel rail (IIRC there are two bolts) and remove. Remove injectors from head and replace with new - they are a push fit that seal with a rubber o-ring. Refit fuel rail.

So what with your understeer problem solved with the LSD refresh and now the correct level of power from your engine I expect your odds at Ladbrooks for class 3 to shorten to odds on *tongue*

Great Expectations ehh.

Depends what modifications the new bunch of reprobates in class 3 are arriving with *eek*

I am still refreshing the excuses list; Catalytic converters *cry* Two season old tyres *nono*

Safe bet?.......................I don't think so.

Hi Malcolm

[Robin, I'm sure the previous owner of your car had a nice gas flowed head....]

It teases me everytime I go in the garage and see it sitting on the bench 😬

But Should I decide to refit it I would have to enter class 4 with only 158 BHP 😳

See you at Goodwood
