RussM
When I bought my 7 it had a polished stainless steel rollbar fitted by the previous owner..! (1999 arch de-deon S3 chassis) As the car also came with the original unfitted FIA bar they have now been swapped back, for good reasons.... The stainless bar does not have spigots that project below the triangular mounting plates, nor does it have propper lugs at the bottom of the rear diagonals, merely open slots in the diagonal tube ends that bolt to the rear chassis. There are no crossbars and it looks a little low; ~280mm from top of triangular plate to top of top tube. As I do not know the grade of the Stainless Steel and taking the above design faults into consideration clearly its ability to perform its intended duty is very questionable. I know its a long shot, but if someone out there fancies it (for free) as a show car bar or can think of a good use for the stasinless steel when cut up they are more than welcome to it before it goes to the tip...!
