jingars
Mark, can you please let me know the product number for the beastie (so that I can check the precise spec on the Compaq website), whether is is XP Home or Pro and where in the world are you? Gridgway
I'm also interested in the lappy. Can I ask how old it is and what condition that battery is in? Thanks Graham
Mark P
Thanks for your interest .... The product number is a Presario 1110 . The spec is Mobile Intel ® Celeron ® CPU 1.6ghz 1.59ghz, 224 mb RAM Windows XP Home Edition (incl sp2) I would estimate that it is approx 4 - 5 years old, although it has hardly been used. For the first 2-3 years it was my fathers, and he basically typed the odd letter, but not a lot else. It didn't get a lot of use !! He then decided that he wanted to edit some videos, and in reality its not man enough so he bought a new PC. Its therefore not been used for about two years I would estimate. Battery wise, I'll need to check. I'll charge it up and then see how long it lasts and post again. I'm based in Horsham, West Sussex
jingars
Mark, your inital post said that it had 2 Gb of RAM, but as it turns out that is not the case, I will pass. Also, I am based in the Midlands, so you are a long way away......
gin-fizz-whizz
Possible interest from over here in Burgess Hill. Please confirm the battery state/charge retention after non-use (a new battery could almost be as much as the PC itself)? Does it have Excel installed - what version? Gridgway
I'll pass too on the RAM front. Thanks Graham
Mark P
No problem, I understand. Price and RAM description now edited.
Mark P
I've now managed to test the battery, and its not holding much of a charge ☹️. Therefore, I've decided that it would be best all round to remove from sale and dispose of it.
