eoinmac
What changes would i have to make to my engine (old roadsport A , 135 ish bhp by Minister ) to make it into a megagrad spec engine (150 ish bhp )
MarchHare2008
Check out the mcmillan motorsport web site upgrades page. If you have the supersport cams its probably upgraded tappets (mechanical) and decat exhaust. Changing MSA regs will require catalytic converters this year but I expect a high flow sports cat will still give most of the 8hp benefit which the previous de-cat system was supposed to confer. Not sure if an ecu remap is needed. Regs also refer to an uprated aluminum inlet manifold and throttle body and allow dry sump conversions. The latter doesn't appear to be universally used so probably not in the basic spec necessary to get the 150 bhp headline figure. Personally I think that number might be a triffle optimistic...... Gridgway
I doubt you'll get to 150 with a decat zorst. That must mean something on the induction side as well. Graham
Willie.
Not all supersports have mechanical tappets. Drive it flat out for 10mins and you'll soon find out if you have or haven't 😬 Willie
Gridgway
I don't think any of the standard supersports had mechanical tappets. Only special builds. Graham
David Brown
Hi Eoin, our paths didn't cross last year, I hope you are well. Are you looking to upgrade to Megrad spec or just looking to get 150bhp(ish). If the later, have you looked at the DVA site (http://www.dvapower.com) aka: Oilyhands. I followed this over a couple of years to go from standard 1.6 to a bit more than this output. David
