Drive shaft removal

I am in the process of removing the diff and have got the brake caliper off and the four retaining bolt off and to quote Miles' site I need to " simply withdraw the driveshaft through the dedion ear" only it won't "simply" withdraw.

Is there a knack? reluctant to hit it with a hammer, does the driveshaft have to be horizontal? (at the moment the suspension is unloaded)?

Neil, are you trying to pull the shaft through the dedion ear? It could be that you have the later type drive shafts but earlier ears, they don't fit through! If the problem still persists undo the remaining two bolts holding the ear to the Dedion tube and take the whole lot off

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Was starting to think it was just frozen on given the weather 😬

Combination of one of the hub bolts was threaded on the aluminium plate behind the ear because the hole drilled through it originally was slightly too small, in addition drive shaft seemed reluctant to go through the ear so I removed that as well but that was quite simple.

Cheers

Neil
