1L might be enough depends how quickly you get the air out. 2l will def see it done so I'd get that much in.

If you are DOT4 or DOT5.1 then cheap enough. AP600 or the Castrol high temp stuff and it gets a more expensive...

Add lightness, says the man with a VX :-)

A litre should be enough, but you don't want to run out half way through, so I'd get a couple of litre bottles just in case.

If you don't need the second bottle, either take it back or it should be OK to keep for a while as long as you don't open it.

  • 3 months later...

I'm planning to bleed my brakes this weekend for the first time (as in me doing it 'v' getting it done at a service 😬). Manual says Dot 4...is Halfords standard Dot 4 fine for the 7 ? (1996 1.6kss) or should I be looking for something else ?

I do a couple of track days a year but mostly low mileage road blatting.....

Thanks
