Dirty Den
Hi all - I've been told that I should be checking my oil level in my XFlow immediately after running the engine. I've always checked the oil from cold, on a flat surface, to get an accurate reading of the level in the sump. Surely if the engine has been running, most of the oil is in the engine galleries and not the sump? I'd appreciate any thoughts on this (and a definitive answer if one exists! wink.gif Den teeth.gif - Self portrait - still unable to remove the smile! Roger King
Your instructions relate to a dry-sump engine. If your's is wet-sump you should leave it to stand for about 5 minutes after running before looking at the dipstick for the reasons you mentioned. Dirty Den
Thanks Roger - It's good to know that I've been checking it correctly previously... wink.gif Den teeth.gif - Self portrait - still unable to remove the smile!
