paul abrahams
Can anyone tell me which oil to use in a duratec engine, I have been told two different answers, 5W 50 and 5W 30. I'm hoping it's 5W 50 as I have 10 litres of this 5W50 works a treat Edited by - paul abrahams on 25 Mar 2009 16:15:
Pendennis
I have been using 5w 40 for 5 years in my race engine 18th century Farmhouse in Rural Somerset to let

Rob Walker
IMO 5W50 is too thick for the Duratec engine. I now use 5W30.
Jason Plato
5w30 is the original spec from Ford and Mazda . And seeing as the R400 bottoem and is all std then that makes perfect sense to use. I have always used and continue to use 5w40 halfrauds oil in the silver jugs but now I'm on unipart 5w40. I could use 5w30 but I dont realy know why I stick with 5w40 5w50 is too thick in my opinion..... here is C7 TOP Taffia joint AO with Al
