Atinod
Before I go and buy the SVA kit from Caterham, has anybody got some of the bits kicking around that they'll be glad to sell to me I do need the mesh grille, bonnet catch rubbers, fuse box cover .... most bits in fact
shn7
James, I probably have most of a set that your' welcome to. Would just need to find them in the garage. Probably missing a number of nut/bolt covers. How urgently do you need stuff? Does this mean SVA is looming Steve. robmar
if steve can't find his I am sure I have an unopened package somewhere in the garage full of sva bits 😳
Atinod
Wow! I didn't think anybody actually looked in the Wanted section After a very busy year on everything other than my Busa , time has come for some action , not least because of the SVA changes in April So basically I have just started again. Rear wings, lights, fogs and numberplate done, working on headlights & side repeaters now. I have not applied for the SVA yet so no mad rush, but whatever you two can find would be of help, if you could let me know I feel less and less like a Club member, until I can get it on the road
Bellissimmo
I think I can lay my hands on a grille (assume we're talking nosecone here?) and I've got a few odd bits of rubberwear laying about 😬 Steve Edited to say: Which bit of the South Coast are you on? May deliver on a suitably sunny day. Edited by - Bellissimmo on 9 Dec 2008 19:12:
Atinod
Hi Bellissimmo, I'm in Fareham near the beach, if you're heading this way I can blatmail my address if you find any bits! Yes, it is the mesh grille for the nosecone that I need Cheers, James
Bellissimmo
Hoky Kokey, I'll hunt out the grille & whatever rubber bits I have left - but you'll have to wait for a dry day
myothercarsa2cv
Steve, your old grill may not fit if Antinod has a weight-watcher... Bellissimmo
😳 Oh dear, never thought of that! Just looked at the parts store and it looks like you're right. Sorry Atinod
Stationary M25 Traveller
Is this the mesh grille behind the '7' logo ? Why not get a bit of mesh from B&Q (other DIY stores are available !) and wire/cable tie it all around the perimeter of the 7 'grille'. Would have thought it was something you would want to keep anyway - to stop anything smaller than a housebrick getting past the 7 grille ? Could always spray it black if you want it to be less visible. Or - buy the CC grille !
Bellissimmo
Is this the mesh grille behind the '7' logo ... or for the purposes of SVA - in front of the seven. Suspect that containing/covering all the sharp edges would be an issue?
Stationary M25 Traveller
Bit of push-on edge trim around the mesh should do it - sort of stuff from a car accessory shop ? What a faff !! The mesh I got from B&Q could be cut with sturdy scissors.
myothercarsa2cv
I may have some mesh grill left over from when I did the 2cv... I cut with some snips. Atinod
I've thought about making the mesh myself and have looked at B&Q [etc] but it just seems a pain to cut and edge neatly. I'll look again. I still need the rubber bonnet catch covers [etc] though, so let me know what you have and how much you want for them please Cheers, James
