Tyrone
We are now offering the prints at £30 including P&P. After much discussion on the AR’s forum and numerous phone calls it is clear LRF would rather we converted the prints into cash. We have access to a target market and they do not want to store them. The prints have been available online here during the year and on offer from the Event Support Vehicle at all major events. Various ways of converting to cash have been suggested and considered on the AR’s forum. No particular suggestion has a proven method of raising more cash than another although there were lots of opinions and bright ideas. As so often in these circumstances, the logistics of some of the ideas were going to add transport costs for no guaranteed additional return. They would be more complicated to administer and track as we approach the busy Christmas period for our “volunteer labour force” as well as postal services. We have decided to go for the simplicity of a single price which would raise in excess of £1k and try to hit the Christmas gift market quickly. Malcolm Godfrey will do all the packaging and posting from Godfrey Towers as a priority to try to beat the Christmas deadline. Malcolm has asked purchasers to contact him on his club email – malcolm.godfrey@lotus7club.com – with the number of prints they want, a contact phone number and their address to which the picture would be sent (remembering these are not letter box size). Malcolm will then contact them by email reply to confirm reservation until receipt of cheque made payable to “Seven Club Limited” is received. Malcolm will give his adress in his email response to the order. Some of the AR forum comments on bidding at meetings were no doubt good – it is the practicality of pursuing these when you look into it with the other things people have to do in their lives. Sometimes the best solution is the most practical one in trying to do things for the Club, as I hope everyone will appreciate. The possibility of original purchasers being annoyed is a reality. Hopefully, they will appreciate we have all experienced buying something at full price only to see it significantly reduced in price later to clear by retailers. Please note, this is not a commercial venture, all purchasers are directly donating to NtL.
