Fuel filler neck ( who't cant get the fuel in )

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem ( CSR with upgraded filler cap )

 

When attempting to fill the car up with petrol the pump nozzle jams in the filler neck before it reaches the sprung return surge plate at the base of the neck and subsequently shuts off the petrol pump.

So far the only way to fuel the car is to use a thin rod to hold the flap down.

I have tryed putting the nozzle in from every angle ( insert joke here ) but no joy.

Common problem. Do a search on here, then buy a screwdriver.

I had the same problem and started off getting very annoyed and then I bought a funnel and then I got the flap removed.

Paul, have a look here. It's a common problem, but easily solved.

Had this problem a week or two back when i tried to fill up at Tesco (serves me right really), so gave up and went to BP instead. The Tesco nozzles have recently been changed to ones with a much larger flangy bit on the spout.

Certainly not mad.

 

I had mine sorted out under warranty at the first service. What I found mad was that they sold me a car that was impossible to fill up.

In truth, not quite "impossible". You could do it provided you didn't mind dribbling it in for 20 minutes and spraying yourself, the back of the car and the garage forecourt with petrol. Oh how I laughed!
